Expo Milano 2015

Milan hosted the Universal Exhibition EXPO 2015, the central theme being ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’, a global audience of 20 million visitors were in attendance representing 145 countries.  The aim of the exhibition is to facilitate EU companies in a bid to increase business development in third countries and regions.

Schwungrad Energie were in attendance at the EU-Sub-Saharan African Days that took place in the framework of EXPO Milan 2015.  R&D project manager Jake Bracken was the representative for the organisation, alongside an additional 439 international participants.  The aim of the event was to highlight the importance of Africa for Europe and the need for a real regional integration process in Africa. Schwungrads representative Jake Bracken reflected that ‘We gained an interesting insight into the Sub Saharan Africa energy sector and the potential applications for the Hybrid flywheel-battery in its fast expanding economies.’
